Frontken is the proud sponsor of MLNG Rugby club in Bintulu first ever rugby tournament. MLNG Rugby Club (MRC) fought bravely, with all the talk of lacking-of-experience, no signs of inexperience on a glorious afternoon as MRC roared into a 28 - 0 half-time. MRC’s early second-half opener only further assured the the match had long since been won. The final whistle closed the match with an epic score of 40–5. We congratulate the team for their stunning victory.

With this recent training at IRIS Power in Canada, Frontken Philippines has further equipped themselves with electrical engineering and testing capabilities catered to turbo generators, hydro generators and various sized motors.


GreenFRONT at iGEM Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre 2010

GreenFRONT was part of the national level event IGEM2010. Positioned to take lead and gather industry players and professionals from various sectors, public and private, big and small, local and foreign, new as well as established, to explore and seize the many opportunities from the exciting and emerging green market in the country and the region.

We showcased our Smart GREEN Innovations such as LED Lightings Helios Smart-Energy, LED Display Panels and more over the four-day event which attracted more than 500 companies from around the world and over 120,000 visitors. GreenFRONT aims to continue provision of Eco-friendly, Energy-effective and Cost reducing innovation.

Frontken TRIPLES pretax profit

For the first 6 month period ending at June 30th Frontken tripled its pretax profit from 2.2mil to 8.8mil while revenue jumped from 67.354mil to 71.253 mil. Frontken Corporation expects double digit growth this year boasted by its strong first half while maintaining growth for the rest of the year.

Key revenue drivers were the oil & gas and semi conductors sectors. On the company's expansion plans, it will be to expand to China and Middle East in the next 12 months.

Frontship Participation in SMM Shipbuilding Machinery & Marine Technology 2010, Hamburg

Fronship Pte Ltd participated in the SMM2010 that was held at the Hamburg, Germany. The promoted services and products at the show were Frontship supplies, shipyard management, Frontken equipment restoration & specialized engineering services. Adding to the services we showcased our products from WKM Kawasaki Side Thrusters Service Representation, Chetra Mechanical Seals and Aqua-chem Water makers.

With more than 52,000 visitors from every continent and nearly 2,000 exhibitors from 60 nations, the biennial SMM in Hamburg is by far the world's leading global maritime industry trade fair.


Frontken awarded Infineon Supplier Excellence Award 2010

The Infineon On-site Service Suppliers Quality Performance Award 2010 was awarded to the group's Semiconductor services division, Frontken Malaysia Sdn Bhd of Kulim on 12th August 2010. As a result of improvement initiatives by the Zero Defect team, process control has improved and Infineon's 2009 process audit of our production system yielded a spectacular 95% conformance rate. The Zero Defect program is a joint-effort between Frontken and Infineon, led by En. Pauzi (Infineon) and Puan Mazwin (Frontken) with objective of achieving Zero CAR and elimination of complaints throughout the production flow.


Institute Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) visits Frontken East Malaysia

Frontken in Kuching hosted a visit by the Institute Latihan Perindustrian (ILP) earlier this month with the aim of exposing the young minds to leading technologies in the industry. Sharing our diverse engineering capabilities, students and lecturers alike were given the opportunity to witness industrial engineering operations and insights to how certain specialized engineering services ares performed. The visit by ILP also allowed our engineers to get updated with curricular contents in engineering institutes today, enlightened just as the trainees were in taking a peek into their future career.


Frontken Football Club vs Lam United

Frontken Singapore was excited to host yet another friendly footbal match with our valued customer Lam Research Singapore Pte Ltd. Once again the world’s favorite sport helped promote a healthier lifestyle within the organization. The match kept both spectators at the edge of their seats for the full 90 minutes. Employees not only forged stronger ties, but embraced the spirit of competition and friendship with our customer.

Despite being outplayed, the host deserved credit for continuing to display some good passing football, but which tellingly lacked a cutting edge in the final third. Both teams put up an exciting match with Lam Research eventually winning the match with a score of 5-0.

Frontken signs MOU with ITE for Cooperation in Technical Education and Training

Frontken has entered into a MOU with ITE (Institute of Technical Education, Singapore) for cooperation in technical education and training. Under this cooperation, Frontken will provide overseas Industrial Attachment (IA) at its plant in Malaysia for ITE students to acquire technical skills and knowledge. The IA will also expose ITE students to global trends and developments, work practices and a different cultural environment. The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) is a statutory board under Singapore's Ministry of Education, it provides pre-employment training and continuing education and training to working adults. The institution is well-known for its provision of a broad-based, multi-disciplinary curriculum that encompasses courses in Applied & Health Sciences, Business & Services, Design & Media, Electronics & Info-Comm Technology and Engineering.

Frontken takes part in 7th International Materials Technology Conference & Exhibition

Frontken Singapore participated the 7th International Materials Technology Conference & Exhibition (IMTCE 2010) that was held at the Hilton Hotel in Kuching, Sarawak. This event was graced with an opening ceremony by YAB Pehin Sri Tan Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, Chief Minister of Sarawak In conjuction with the exposition, Frontken group's R&D director Dr. Cheah Li Kang was also present at the conference to present a technical paper entitled "New Generation of Sustainable Energy Maintenance, Refurbishment and Overhaul Program for Power Generation Industry" Dr. Cheah emphasized the need to improve equipment efficiency, at the same time minimizing loss to achieve sustainable power generation - Achievable through total integrated maintenance and overhaul solutions.


Frontken teams up with US-based Sifco ASC for electro-plating capabilities upgrade

Frontken has teamed up with Sifco Applied Surface Concepts (Sifco ASC), a division of US- based Sifco Industries Inc via its Singapore subsidiary. The new partnership will enable Frontken to use and apply the SIFCO Process, which is a unique portable technique of surface treatment via selectively brush electroplating without use of immersion tanks. With the flexibility to do surface treatment on-site or in the Frontken facility, this process offers a huge advantage in easing repair of big rotors for power generation and paper mill without the equipment being dismantled. In addition, the SIFCO Process is also used for enhancing components that are difficult to move around and it has specific properties like electrical and thermal conductivity optimised layers as well as for corrosion protection.


'Power Kings' bags GOLD at International Robotics Championship, Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Frontken is the proud sponsor of SMK Bintulu students team 'Power Kings' in the 2010 FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Open International Robotics Championship; held in Kaohsiung,Taiwan from the 5th to 8th May 2010.

Power Kings competed with 64 teams from 23 countries such as USA, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, China and Singapore to win the Best Teamwork Award. This award is only presented to the group that best demonstrate extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit, exceptional partnership, the utmost respect for their own teammates, and support and encouragement of fellow teams. They must also demonstrate confidence, energy, strong problem-solving skills and great group dynamics. This latest achievement marks their second breakthrough after securing Frontken as their main sponsor, and is the most significant thus far. Frontken Singapore hosts approx. 100 visiting NTNU Masters students

Frontken values importance of support for education and research which define the future viability of society. In partnership with SWTS Pte Ltd, FS welcomed some 100 Master’s students from Norwegian University of Science and Technology to its plant at Gul Circle, Singapore. The visiting students, mainly from the faculty of Production Design & Manufacturing, were given tailored presentations on thermal spray coating and a guided tour of the company’s engineering plant.

Held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching and hosted by the Sarawak State Government, this event was aimed promoting business partnerships, generate business and investment opportunities in the multi-billion dollar Sarawak Corridor on Renewable Energy.


Frontken lauded for emergency response to Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana)

In recognition of Frontken Philippines' support to MWC in providing on-site electro-mechanical repair of equipment and restoring water supply during Tropical Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana), which wrought havoc on Metro Manila and nearby areas causing severe flooding, FP was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by MWC. Ketsana brought the worst rainfall to Metro Manila among recorded typhoons since the start of rainfall record keeping, producing only moderate wind but hours of extremely heavy rain.

[10~12-Jun-2009] Frontken Malaysia enjoyed tremendous visitor volume at the 12th Asian Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Engineering Exhibition (OGA) 2009 held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre between 10-12th June 2009.

The exposition is the biggest of its kind in Asia with reported 1,400 international companies congregating under one roof, networking and sharing industry knowledge/products with trade visitors.
