Established since 1996, we have presence today in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, China and recently in Indonesia; with a combined workforce of about 1,000 employees and 14 engineering plants with implementation of stringent process and environmental quality management systems that include ISO 9001:2008, AS9100:2004, NADCAP, ISO 14001:2004 and more. We serve a wide spectrum of industries ranging from Oil & Gas, Refineries, Marine & Offshore, Power Generation to Electronics Manufacturing, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical and others.
Our core expertise is in the application of thermal spray coatings, a series of specialized surface engineering solutions and improvements of coatings quality for specific industrial applications through materials research and modification of micro structural surface properties. Thermal spray coating technologies enables deposition of virtually any materials, such as metals, alloys, ceramics, cermets, polymers, composites or graded materials onto surfaces for increased performance, lifetime extension and other functions. Other processes that form the Surface Metamorphosis Solutions include cold build-up coating, plating, conversion coating, specialized welding services and precision cleaning and more; while other complementary technologies include comprehensive mechanical services such as small/large capacity machining (boring, turning, facing, grinding & etc), precision manufacturing, dynamic balancing, mechanical fitting, heat treatment, in-situ machining, metal-stitching, laser alignment and more.

Company History
The history of the FCB Group began in 1996 with the establishment of Frontken Singapore Pte Ltd, with a staff force of twelve (12) and rented factory space of 1,600 square metres. Frontken Singapore was founded by two enterprising engineers, Willie Wong and Alvin Yeo. Through their prior training and work experiences with major global thermal spraying companies such as Tocalo and Sulzer Metco (Singapore) Pte Ltd, Willie Wong has garnered tremendous capabilities in material engineering and R&D in thermal spray coating processes, while Alvin Yeo has capabilities in production techniques and skill sets. Their combined capabilities provided the foundation for surface metamorphosis technology of the FCB Group.
The principal activities of Frontken then were machining, metal fabrication and thermal spray coating for the general engineering industry. It started with a wire metallizing spray system, which was among the lowest range of thermal spray coating systems from the spectrum of thermal spray coating systems available in the market.
Over the next few years, Frontken continued to grow, invest and acquire more advanced thermal spray system, including the Flame Powder/Rod spray system, HVOF, Plasma Transferred Arc Cladding, Plasma Spray System aided with multi-axes robotic automation arm. Frontken relocated to a rented production plant with an area of 3,500 square metres which it subsequently acquired in 2001. With better operation facilities and advanced equipment, Frontken's customer base in Singapore expanded to include companies in the oil and gas, semiconductor, petrochemical and power generation industries.
In 2001, Frontken stepped up R&D on Surface Metamorphosis Technology for new applications and new market sectors, with an aim to establish Frontken Singapore as a centre of research excellence and build its technology network with suppliers, partners and customers in order to identify new business opportunities.
In the years that followed, Frontken continued to develop and refine its capabilities and techniques towards innovative surface metamorphosis engineering and have since developed significant expertise in a broad spectrum of surface metamorphosis technology areas essential to the success of the Group’s business.
Today, Frontken is a leading service provider of mission critical services for industries such as the semiconductor (comprised of Semicon Manufacturing, Optoelectronics, Flat Panel Display and Data Storage industries), Power Generation, Petrochemical, and Oil & Gas industries with a combined workforce of about 1,000 employees spanning across our engineering plants in the Asia Pacific region, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines & Taiwan.
The Group has an established reputation and foundation for quality, prompt delivery and reliable service in this industry & also has proven track records in providing mission critical surface metamorphosis engineering projects that are rapidly architected, engineered and delivered with speed and reliability, as well as demonstrated the engineering capabilities, financial resources and human capital in completing projects of any size given by the customers.
